A Passover of Unity in Hebron

The Jewish Community of Hebron invites you to Hebron for the holiday of Passover,  an inspirational experience for the whole family.

This year self-guided tours are available using a tablet which can be rented for a special discounted price of 20 shekels. This new high-tech was of learning about the history of Hebron offers information in different languages, games, videos, photos and explanations.

Passover in Hebron offers an opportunity for parents and children to have quiet prayer time and enjoy walks, musical performances, kosher-for-Passover refreshments, arts and crafts projects for children and tours of the historic sites and archeological excavations. A variety of musicians will be stationed at various locations for lend a festive atmosphere. Street performers dramatize Biblical events.

The Hall of Isaac and Rebecca, usually reserved for Islamic prayers, will be open on Wednesday April 24, 2024 and Thursday April 25, 2024.

This is the largest area in the Tomb of the Patriarchs & Matriarchs complex and includes the “Entrance to the Garden of Eden” the underground passage way that leads into the actual Cave of Machpela.

Visitors will have free shuttles to a selection of sites and free tours to such places as the Avraham Avinu synagogue which dates back to 1540, the Beit Hadassah building, built in 1893 and the Tel Hebron Archeological Park which contains the largest ancient mikvot uncovered in Israel.

The Touching Eternity museum will be opened to visitors in Beit Hadassah, with a unique and fascinating 4D film and a variety of displays for the whole family. In honor of the holiday, the museum is offering a family entrance ticket at discounted prices, worth. Performing on site will be popular singer Mordechai Yitzhar.

One of the highlights of Passover in Hebron is the musical Hallel with Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu, chief rabbi of Tzfat and a group of wonderful musicians. This special prayer service which will take place on Thursday April 25, 2024 for Vatikin prayers (beginning at dawn, at 5:30am) outside the Tomb of the Patriarchs & Matriarchs. This event usually attracts several thousand participants and is a joyful and memorable prayer experience.
